CEC administrates a constellation of well-known IT companies in China; it currently controls 61 second level subsidiaries, including 13 listed holding companies. CEC owns large-scale manufacturing bases in Beijing, Shanghai, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Nanjing，Changsha, Xiamen, etc. Total employee now is over 70,000.

CEC provides design, development, manufacturing, sales and service in semiconductor and electronics components, computer and core computer parts, software and system integration, telecommunication and consumer electronics; CEC also engages in e-commerce, logistic and information service, electronic engineering design and contracts.

By the end of 2006, CEC has total assets around USD 7.1 billion and sales revenue around USD 8 billion. CEC has marketing networks covering hundreds of cities in China. It is an important player in fields of national informationization and state information security.
